This is quite a specific question to which i cannot find an answer on the usual websites such as HMRC, etc.

Our earned income is from courses sold worldwide but mainly in the UK and the USA, on the internet.  Can we apply to pay tax in the UK rather than Spain on monies earned?  We are resident in Spain and have no assets in the UK, although we do have a British bank account.

Maria, this might be one for you, but any informed answers/ guidance/ pointers would be welcome, especially from anyone doing this- if it is possible.

Thank you all,

Donna

You do not say where you are tax resident,  If it is in Spain, as your profile shows,  take a look here, the 'Taxation Agreement between Spain  and UK'.

http://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/507409/spain-dtc_-_in_force.pdf

If it were just UK and Spain, that says you must pay the tax you describe in Spain, but you may need to also check the agreement between Spain and USA and any other jurisdictions where you have income.   The Agreements are not the same.

Where do you pay NI or where you currently pay tax etc.

are you vat / iva registered especially for selling outside of EU

In UK ltd, sole trader etc

In Spain autonomo, SA etc.
