road trip through the pyranee

we're planning a road trip back home to the UK in June/July, we would like to come from Alicante area via Zaragoza up through the pyranees national park, has anyone done this ? we need a pet friendly hotel or apartment somewhere with a pool, good food and en route to Bordeaux, I've been trolling through booking websites but its really hard to find somewhere not to far off the beaten track, any ideas anyone??

If you are thinking of going through the Pyranees in the region around Andorra, i hope you dont mind winding possibly hazardous roads, and that you have a head for heights, as some roads have an almost sheer drop to the side with no barriers. Its not for the faint hearted!

I do that journey twice a year and always stay in Accor chain hotels which are pet friendly. The roads are good but as the last poster intimated they do twist and turn a bit but are safe. Watch out for the large number of huge coaches on the road however. At that time of year weather will not be a problem. An easier route is up to Zaragoza, Huesca and then through Somport tunnel. Then down to Pau where there are many Ibis hotels. It's a much more attractive route.
