Can anyone give me information regarding health care. I have worked in
spain for several years and paid into the system i deciede to have a break
and take a few months off i am wondering if
my sip card is still valid or does it expire

I would suggest you ask at the Medical Centre

Unless you register as unemployed and seeking work it will only be valid for 90 days after you stop paying social security.
Having said that if you were registered on the "Registro de Cuidadnos de L'union" before the 24th April 2012 and earn less than €100,000 you should qualify to register under that scheme. You need confirmation from your home country that you do not qualify for health cover there.
