That seems a bit of a top end estimate - 39 minutes? stuck in traffic? In normal circumstances I would have thought it was more like 20 minutes and no traffic, the road is always empty in my experience.
But there's a bit of a hoha re taxi drivers which apparently are to have an exclusive at Corvera, so you could be right.

Why won't the Spanish government deregulate the Taxi service in Spain and allow Private hire.. all the EU countries have done this ..as instructed by the EU to allow greater competition.

Probably because the Spanish government like some others in the EU (and unlike the UK) just ignore the rules that they don't like..

You are correct windtalker. Barcelona is no exception.” Two years ago, Uber re-introduced UberX using professional drivers in Madrid. In December 2014, a judge had ordered all Uberservices to be shut down in Spain's capital city. ... Uber operates a range of ride-hailing services in more than 600 cities around the world.
All probably the usual ‘’money talks’’.

Years ago we told our kids never talk to strangers, we warned them about getting into cars not knowing the driver, they were told never get into a unsafe car.....Now we have Uber.

That is true baz, but what’s the difference between a licence Uber driver and an independent licensed taxi driver, be it a Spanish taxi or London black Cab. As far as I know they all have the same vetting procedure and are all human beings capable of whatever.

I have sold a couple of cars to a licensed UK taxi driver who only picks up and drives to Airports, wont do the taxi rank, the test the car went through before it was passed was strict even down to one inside arm rest had a small wear mark, the license plate only had two screws holding it on, couple of other small jobs that had to be done before the car could work, we did the work before and after according to the taxi drivers and testing station advice, I have known the driver for a good few years, and used him, he changes his cars at just under 90,000 miles.
A Uber driver came to pick up a customer who left the car in for repairs, they say the cars must be in good body condition, this one was bad with body dents, and had done 200 thousand miles, Toyota Prius Hybrid, a day later the very same car came back to pick up said customer with a different driver of not UK origin. Was it his mate? Was he licensed? very confusing.

I suppose baz it’s all down to perception. Normal licensed taxi is seen as safe and trustworthy. Uber and similar are seen as cowboys and dodgy. A bit like the old days of British Leyland being the thing to have and a Skoda a joke. How times change.

Used this company https://aktis.taxi/ to get from Corvera to Condado. On time, polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend them.
