Spanish Will
The Comments |
Before the B deal that happened a few years ago,my wife and I had previously had a will made up by our solicitor, to take into account UK inheritance rules. Have things changed now, can we still rely on that will or was it a waste of money? I could ask my solicitor, but as they are in Aguilas and I am in the UK, I struggle to get a reply from them in a timely fashion. Not after a 100% definitive answer, unless Maria comments, but a general idea would be handy.
Thanks

Hi Mark, your Spanish will should be fine if it was written up by a professional. Nothing has changed with respect to Brexit and Spanish inheritance law. The last big change in inheritance law was back in 2015 to my knowledge. If you have a Spanish will and it was notarised and registered you have nothing to worry about. Was it registered in the Registro General de Actos de Ultima Voluntad?

Thanks Ian. I am presuming so as we had to attend the notary in Aguilas to formalise it. Just getting ready to change the UK one, so was checking any changes.
Cheers
