Recent Floods (gota fria) in Costa Blanca
The Comments |
Hi everyone, I'm new to this so could do with some advice. We have an apartment in Benalmadena which we have been using for holidays but we have now decided we would like to spend more time in Spain but in the Costa Blanca area as the pace of life seems a lot slower and quieter. We are looking for somewhere reasonably flat but are concerned with the lack of information regarding flood risk areas. Having seen some of the devastation of the areas hit by the recent flooding we are now worried that our choice of Javea is a bad risk. Can anyone give us some advice on the areas we should avoid, as there has been no media coverage here in the UK. We already ruled out a plot of land near to a barranca as we were advised that when it rains, IT RAINS.

Its one of the reasons why the Spanish will not buy a ground floor apartment! If you got for 1st or ideally 2nd storey upwards you should be fine.
Unless the Tsunami hits!!!!!

Hi Rixxy
Thanks for the info, we are looking for a Villa on mainly flat ground due to mobility problems and so will keep this in mind.
