Good Restaurant Guide
The Comments |
Hi,
I am trying to compile a list of restaurants which people have been to and could recommend (with addresses) around the Fungirola, and along the coast to Marbella and Peuto Banous areas.
When we have been over at Cabopino we have been recommended to go to the Lemon Tree in Fuengirola, but could never find it. Could anyone explain if they know where it is?
It's always good to try somewhere new to eat when on holiday.
Thanks

Thats a great idea. Having just moved areas in spain (only a few km from fuengirola to marbella) I fond we are lost as to where is good to go. We have just started going out and have discovered a great Indian restaurant, chinese/japanese one and a fab englich one as well as a really cheap day bar for tapas and of course the sunday lunch one - seafood on the beach chiringuito! Have no addresses but will collect them next time I go.
Lemon tree is if i remember behind the main post office (correos) in Fuenf¡girola. Probably best to get to Fuengy and then grab a taxi. Letr us know how great it is!

Strongly recommend Casa Roberto in Fuengirola. It has a european cuisine located off the main church square on Calle Espana. Its owned by a Belgian man Roberto) and he employs mainly Scandanavian waitresses! He's also famous for his collection of Golf Clubs that hang from the ceiling! The food and service is top class and I eat their regularly. Restaurant Casa Roberto on Calle Espana next to the Post Office(Tel: 952 465 809) specialises in charcoal grill cooking where grilled fish kebab costs around £6 and sole £8. Flower bed outside, the restaurant has a warm, welcoming and intimate atmosphere and the food is excellent.
This web site list lots of restaurants in Fuengirola; http://www.donasofia.com/living/restaurants.htm This message was last edited by miket on 2/6/2007.

Situated only 3 minutes walk from central Town Square and the beach front. This delightful restaurant has been converted from a traditional fisherman’s cottage and has retained many of its original features throughout. There is a pretty courtyard at the back with citrus and other fruit trees. This elegant and stylish restaurant, set in the heart of Fuengirola, has a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere. For any occasion, be it a romantic encounter or an enjoyable evening with friends, this is the place for you. Open every evening from 7pm to 11.30pm Closed Sunday.

Da Brunos - just off the island at the Cabopino turn off is fantastic. We have been there many times over the years and they never let you down.
Alberts in Cabopino itself is usually also very good, as is their sister restaurant in Mijas Costa - the name escapes us - something like Mijas Playa.
Cheers,
Lynn & John

HI MIKE WHY THE POINT ABOUT THE FLOWER BED - DID YOU FALL OVER IN IT AND BASH YOUR NOSE AFTER ONE TOO MANY - BY THE WAY HOW HAS IT HEALED.
IN MARBELLA RECOMMEND BECKITS - GOOD WHOLESOME IRISH FOOD - OPEN KITCHEN SO CAN SEE THE FOOD BEING PREPARED. VILLA TIBERIO IN MARBELLA STUNNING LOCATION FOOD OK. PALM BEACH LOS MONTEROS CHIRINGUITO FABULOUS FOR FISH ON THE BEACH - GREAT BEACH TOO. DA BRUNOS ON PASEO MARITIMO IN MARBELLA IS A BIT COMMERCIAL AND I THINK MAYBE NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHERS - THEY HAVE A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE SO MAYBE DONT TRY AS HARD. IN BANUS PICASSO IS GOOD FOR PIZZA AND PASTA OTHERWISE YOU ARE PAYING CELEB PRICES JUST TO BE WITH THE CROWDS - THE CELEBS ALL GO ELSEWHERE THESE DAYS - AS LYNN AND JOHN SAY ALBERTS CABOPINO VERY NICE ESPECIALLY FOR SUNDAY LUNCH - GREAT LOCATION TOO - INSIDE VERY CAMP AND THEATRICAL BUT THEN SO ARE THE OWNERS - THEY ALSO HAVE A NEW SISTER RESTAURANT IN ELVIRIA CALLED CHEZ MICHEL - EL OCEANO HOTEL AT CALA DE MIJAS - GOD I COULD GO ON AND ON.........AND OFTEN DO!!!! THOUGHT I WOULD GET THAT IN BEFORE ANYONE ELSE DOES!!!SORRY SHOULD ADD THAT ITS SMILEY BEFORE MY MISSUS GETS THE HUMP This message was last edited by Rose1 on 2/9/2007.

Theres no need to knock a man while he's Down Patrick!! The nose is doing fine thanks and I'm feeling back to my Ugly best!
This is not a private joke folks, I actually walked into a sliding door( that didn't slide open) !! at the OpenCar supermarket In Marbella Town on Boxing Day. Unfortunately, I ended up with a few stitches in my nose and some very ugly bruises for the next week or so!! Who said the CDS was getting safer?
