I am a very keen electric assist bicyclist and would like to share my meagre knowledge and experiences with anyone similarly minded, that hopefully may reside in the San Javier/Santiago de la Ribera area of Costa Calida.

Although we have a place outside Guardamar on the Costa Blanca I didn't realise that Santiago de Ribera came under Costa Calida.
I Googled & found this map. Costa Calida starts in the north at San Pedro del Pinatar then, how interesting.

Oh yes, Santiago de la Ribera is one of the most beautiful parts of Spain.
"Our" sea is called the "Mar Menor". It is in fact, a lagoon , not the Med. at all and some 10 degrees warmer!
Found this haven quite by chance and fell in love immediately, with the obligatory correct tummy feeling!
My wife and I live here permanently. Went back to Blighty a year ago, for two weeks, after four years residency and felt claustrophobic!!
So, I guess we can say we have adjusted. Of course, the mañana attitude is sometimes a bit annoying and most drivers think they are descended from Juan Fangio!
Viva España!!

Can I suggest that you go to your forum profile & put your location on so others can see whereabouts you are for when we discuss specific locations, as in this thread, Pilgrim.
Just hover on "forums" top left & click on "forum profile" & scroll down to "location". Thanks.

Hi Candyfloss,
thank you for your kind words of welcome!
However, I am a bit jealous of you because I too, wanted to upload some avatars, etc., you know, wiggling, jumping, tongues sticking out, etc. but it keeps telling me it does not recognise the format? They are jpegs but when I save to my hard drive, they freeze as well, GGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I am not the David Bailey of the computer world, I thought I had a reasonable knowledge??
I would be very happy for a lady to advise the correct way, without feeling too embarrassed!!
Regards,
Pilgrim

Flossy, you don't require a photobucket in order to upload an avatar.
You upload directly from your desktop.

Candyfloss, I only said that because you inferred that, by Pilgrim uploading an avatar, he'd mastered the bucket. He has yet to master the bucket.
He's a whizz on his power assisted bicycle though.

WELL, guys n´girls, have I started a domestic here, with my success with the avatar??
I will have a go at the "bucket" thing when I get time, I promise.
At the moment, I am trying to de-rust my electric assist bike from the UK??
As a very dear American airman friend of mine once said, after performing a three year tour of duty in England, "when the fog lifts, you can see the rain!"
Viva España!!

May I repectfully point out that there is a "la" in the title of "our" village.
"Santiago de la Ribera", I understand is the correct way.
Many thanks.
PS I have applied twice to have my PM´s activated without success. I believe there is a message waiting for me now?
Thanks again.
