I am currently looking for a 2/3 bed place, in Los Alcazares for long term rental, approx 6 months to start, with a view to increase if things work out for us.

Did you find a rental?  There is a website where you can look for rentals.  It is www.idealista.com  This is how I found a place to rent in Los Alcazares.  It is in Spanish but you can translate it via google.  It is an owners direct website so you don´t pay agency fees.
