Are we all aware of the fact that thousands of former Spanish property owners may have been paying taxes on the sale of their property at a higher tax rate than was legally binding. This was due to Spanish residents and non residents being asked to pay the capital gains tax at different rates. This has been deemed illegal and now there is the opportunity for these owners to pursue taxes which may be owed to them. The amount being held by the tax authorities due to overpayment could be in the region of 60 million euros. I hope that anyone who has sold or knows of a friend or family member who had sold their property 2004 up till 2007 will consider reclaiming any taxes owed.

Thanks Myra. I have noticed that a few UK companies seem to have jumped in offering to help people reclaim these monies but not sure how legit they are. I hope those that did overpay DO actually claim back what they are entitled to....even if it take a long time which it probably will
