Changing building insurance

Help anybody!

I have been with my building insurer since we bought our property 4 years ago,and now realise they are expensive,can anybody recommend an insurer who will deal on-line,I tried Linea Direct,but they ask to deal initially by phone,which,in view of the detail required ,would necessitate a long call from UK.

They are very good Customer Service wise, can be dealt with via e-mail and have English speaking staff

I moved from Mapre for a cheaper premium and higher cover, to Saltsbay.

Don't be put off if your current insurer saying "you can't swop till next year".

Mine told me that at the renewal, as they say I did not give them 30 days written notice.

I just told them to "send the police and put me in jail"!

I heard nothing more from them!

But make sure you cancel any direct debits in favour of your old insurer, else they will take the next premium anyway.

These are all agents who can offer you quotes by many insurance companies. We found each competative & for 100,000€ build plus 16,000€  contents (to give you an idea)  we are just about to renew, paying 165.03€ with Groupama Seguros. The policy is in English & we find Knight's very good.

Thanks folks,you are most helpful,it appears from the quotes I now have that I will be saving about 2/3rds from what I paid last year.Thats a few nights out!!!!!!!
