Hi,

Just a quick question.

Will a freezer bought in England work as well as a freezer bought in Spain?

I went to buy one last week but I was told it would not work as well because of the difference in voltage.

Is this correct???????????

We have three freezers we brought with us from the uk, all work well.

All electrical appliances built for the european market will work with the different voltages found in europe. They will also work in most other countries except USA and some far eastern countries that use 110 volt ac or 60hz  for household power.

Thanks for the reply mr kevin.

Is it possible to take off the English plug and replace it with a Spanish plug?

Hi Cosmo

There was an engineer on here ages ago discussing these same questions & he told us that he would use an adapter as Spanish plugs aren't fused so using an adapter with the 3 pin plug means it still is fused.

Thanks morerosado,

Just what I wanted to hear, saves me having to change all the plugs.

Much easier to buy adaptors.

We brought 2 freezers and a fridge with us from the UK and rather than use adapters for all 3 I used a 4 gang filtered extension lead and then 1 adapter on the end, keeping fuses in place for the appliances and the extension lead.

Did the same with the TV, DVD, Sat Box, DVD Rec, etc. and all my computer equipment.
