I don't know about the commercial property but the residencial property is hot at the moment. Houses near my area are sold very quickly.

Prices in Richmond,BC:
1) townhouses (2 or 3 level) around $460,000
2) single family houses vary from $750,000 to over millions eg. a 4 or 5 bedroom house around 2400 sq ft living space & 4000 sq ft plot size has been sold recently for around $860,000
In Vancouver West side this is a lot more.

Vancouver is an expensive place to live. Other parts of Canada is a lot cheaper but I can't survive the cold winters.
