Building Work in Spain
The Comments |
We understand that in Spain building work has to cease for a certain period in the summer. Can anyone advise when this is please?

Hi Maria
Someone having some work done on their house has been told to stop by neighbours because building work is not allowed in Spain in August. I have found this on another forum,
"Relax and take it easy in August by law there is no building site work on that Month anywhere in Spain if they are working in August contact the Ajuntamento and they will come round and close them down, and if they start again they get hit with a heavy fine.
If you live out in the sticks well that is a bit different if they can get away with it they will work."
If it's not actually Spanish law perhaps it's part of the community rules?
Regards, Poppyseed

Hi All,
Every builder I know on the costa blanca cease work in August, also in the Calpe area the local council drive around looking for builders working and fines being forthwith.
Surely when you get the building permission ( silly if you dont ) the local council can advise you accordingly.

Yes I was surprised to hear that builders are not working in August when I enquire why there is no work done to my villa.

Try the Costa Del Sol, building work there seems to have stopped for the foreseeable future.......
