New Cartagena to Vera Motorway. AP-7.
The Comments |
For those of you travelling south from Murcia airport, the new strectch of the AP-7 motorway between Cartagena to Vera is now open. We used it yesterday to go from Aguilas to Murcia airport and it easily cut 40 minutes off our previous best journey time - and we didn't even break the speed limit.
Great scenery and hardly any cars - so far!!

Hi Pete,
This is great news, we're flying in to San Javier next week going to San Juan - is it a simple route?- by the look of the map you pick the new bit up at junction 800 and it seems straightforward from there but is it????? Thanks. Gaynor.

I drove up from Estepona to San Javier a couple of weeks ago, so the finishing stretch on the AP-7 was a godsend.
Couldn't believe I saw just four other vehicles travelling north on the Vera-Cartagena 80km section, though I believe the Spanish do avoid toll roads if they can. This section cost me 11.50 Euros, expensive but after doing about 100km on a diversion onto the C-332 earlier on the trip, I would have paid double!

Gaynor,
Sorry I didn't respond to your post. Only just saw it.
I guess you will now know how easy it was to find the route to San Juan. How was it?
We've only used the new motorway northbound so far, but will be trying the southbound route to Aguilas at the end of the month.
