EMERGENCY GAS ENGINEERS

Can anyone tell me the availablity of natural gas in the Murcia region (by meter not bottle). My husband is an emergency gas engineer and would like some info on this but has been quite difficult finding it over the web.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is ANY piped gas in Spain.

Cetainly there is none in apartment blocks and generally, the rules don't allow bottled gas in apartments.

Most friends/relatives I know who have villas, also have bottle gas.

Apparently there is some big plans to pipe up the south of Spain but im too tired to write about it now. Thanks for your replys much appreciated.

As it happens, Gas Natural will be supplying piped gas to some inland regions of Murcia including Jumilla.  We are actually buying on an urbanisation in Jumilla and have already been offered gas appliances, gas central heating and gas/water underfloor heating from Gas Natural (not butano) .  Also, all the boilers on the urbanisation will be now be gas instead of electric.

The plan is to then begin piping gas into some of the local towns in the area.

Yes they are supposed to be bringing over a massive pipe line from Morrocco to S Spain as well. So they are obviously looking to expand alot. There will be a big cry out for gas engineers and plumbers.

Its all good news altho Denia is quite a way from us as you know but still its all heading in the right direction. Ja is going to give Gas natural a ring!!
