I have a guide to community law written by a legal expert  in my Spanish property which states the position almost word for word as stated by Maria in her earlier post-the community may  make an allowance to a President by unanimous consent.

My personal view for what it is worth is that the role of the President  is of such   significance within the community that any change not provided for in relation to his role or functions would appear to be a matter of fundamental importance requiring unanimous consent

This issue is likely to arise from time to time and  hopefully posters will keep us up to date

The booking process and the online check-in process are separate processes which should not be confused

Ryanair introduced some changes on 8th of April last which I would summarise as follows_

1.When making a booking with the airline, you must  now decide whether or not to  book a particular seat on plane

2.If you decide to book a seat, your options are as follows-

  a .Book a Premium seat(rows 1-5,16-17,32-33) for 10£/€ which includes Priority Boarding

b.Book a Regular seat with Priority Boarding for  7£/€

c.Book a Regular seat without Priority Boarding for 5£/€

3.You can still book Priority Boarding withouy booking a seat-you will be a Priority Boarder but your seat will be randomly allocated

4.You can totally ignore the seat booking process-in that case you will be randomly allocated a seat free  of charge

5.Ryanair discriminates between those who have booked a seat and those who have not at the online check-in

stage in a major respect,in that the former may  check-in online up to 30 days before flight date, the latter up to 7 days before flight date.Previously the limit was 15 days for all and many people check-ed online before leaving home and printed boarding passes for both outward and return journeys.Such persons if travelling on a journey of  longer than 7 days  but under 30 days can continue this practice only if they book a seat at time of booking. If they opt not to book a seat there is not a  huge problem but they will have to check-in online at their destination and print their boarding pass there

6.Seat booking can be effected after making original booking by using the Manage My Booking Facility on Ryanair website

7.There have been some favourable changes worth noting-

IThe penalty for failing to check-in online is still a whopping 70£/€,but if you check-in online and subsequently lose your printed boarding pass, the re-issue fee is now 15£/€

There is a 24-hour grace period for correction of errors made at  time of flight booking-however call centre must be  contacted in this case

A second small carry-on bag is now permitted

8.There may be unusual situations in which a person attempts to book a seat on one leg of a  holiday flight but not on other leg.Personally I always book outward and return flights separately which has advantages for me

Hi,ianz

My original intention in 2006-2007 was to purchase a property in the Valencia region and I carried out very extensive research on the ground, though ultimately I opted for Catalunya-odious people but wonderful amenities.I loved Valencia city and its quirky, friendly people but I thought the countryside around Valencia very flat and  uninteresting.I can definitely make a few suggestions which might assist

1.Your first port of call should be the railway line running south from Valencia to Gandia, which serves Silla and Cullera, among other stops .I  strongly urge Silla for your consideration-I liked it so much I visted it three times. It is coastal but does not have a beach, has an entirely spanish village-type  ambience, and is only 4 stops,13 mins from the amenities of Valencia city.Cullera is a beach resort,30 mins from Valencia which is popular but which I do not know well.Gandia itself is definitely worth a visit-the town in my opinion is quite attractive and the beach is located some distance from the town,There is a significant expat presence in Gandia but I do not feel it is in any sense "spoiled",others might disagree-worth a visit to form your own opinion. There are other villages on this train line worth at least a passing glance -one might catch your fancy

2.The railway line running north of Valencia to Castellon offers a few possibles.El Puig is a quite attractive small town/ village, very spanish, very fashionable but definitely rather quiet.Sagunto ,two stops beyond, has roman momuments,an attractive enough centre but a hideous road network  surrounding.-about 30 mins from Vslencia city

I would be disappointed if these two lines did not offer you some possible locations of choice

3.If you  are prepared to modify your insistence on a coastal location, there are some attractive  towns in Valencia region, worth a visit  on their owm merits in any event(all accessible by train)

Xativa -Very attractive,unspoiled,dominated by castle

Alzira-lovely town,,but inward looking,worth a visit

Requena-town in wine country,attractive

Algemesi-I thought this a very attractive friendly town, with fairly low property values

Happy hunting!

A matter of personal choice-driving around Barcelona in a scooter would be my idea of hell on earth, but no doubt you are young and adventurous. The advantage of the bus tour is that you can sit back and let the driver navigate and do not have any concerns about parking your vehicle at any stage and of course you can stay as long as you wish at any site

Beach in October would not be particularly warm or busy and personally I find beaches  out of season  depressing and lacking in atmosphere but of course it may be that you are both beach people. Most attractive beach in my opinion is Platja Nova Icaria, beside Port Olimpic and Torre Mapfre, though Barcelona beaches in general are city beaches and not overly attractive.

You have obviously done your research and really you are the best person to decide what would be appropriate to the person in question, having assessed the options available.Best of luck whatever you decide

The Park Guell(spelt "Park"for a particular reason) springs to mind immediately for purpose indicated-designed by Antoni Gaudi, extraordinary, atmospheric park offering privacy in unusual setting-Unesco World Heritage site and famous worldwide-Bus Turistic stops here

Other unusual locations would be unfinished Sagrada Familia cathedral-a few minutes privacy could be snatched here but really only suitable if an immediate reply expected-,the Olympic stadium if you are both sports enthusiasts or the Camp Nou football stadium if you are both soccer fanatics. The Parc de la Ciutadella is a pleasant, fairly busy park, with a small zoo on site, very close to  city centre, attractive fountain in park, definitely suitable for purpose, close to bars for immediate celebratory drinks if response positive, but without"wow! " factor of Park Guell.
