When I received the quote from my lawyer I have quoted to include ensuring all bills were clear.

2 weeks before completion he is saying due to it being bank owned they may not be able to get all the info and are recommended the use of a gestoria they know. Who charges 850 euros.  He explained that I would have to pay connection charges anyway so the actual extra to pay would be 600 euros.

I am confused as I thought that is what I was paying the lawyer to do?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Appears the bank may not have paperwork regarding:

Utilities, habitation certificate etc.

Is this correct I feel like I am being charged twice here!

We are in the process of buying an apartment and wondered if anyone could give an idea of bills eg:

Community fees

Electric

Aircon

Insurance costs (do we need buildings or just contents?)

Other extras to pay for renting it out eg tax costs for renting

Any other costs not listed here

Thanks for any help in this, also do you recommend anyone in the area for the insurance?

Do you recommend anyone to manage the apartment and rentals

Is it OK to trust Solicitors with Power of Attorney to save me a trip over or it is safer and better to be there to finalise everything?

Thanks everyone, I have narrowed it down to Imont and SG International and SG international is more reasonable by 800 euros!  So will contact them both again and then make a decision.  I really appreciate your help as you hear so many horror stories and it is nice to get real feedback from actual clients.
