Torrevieja has announced it has 600 places for residents living alone and able to look after themselves who are 65 and over or 60 and receiving a pension. The Hotel this year is the Grand Duke Oropesa del Mar in Castellon and is based on full-board from 23rd to 27th December. Transport will be provided.

The Councillor for Social Welfare, Torrevieja, Africa Celdrán said yesterday that registration is now open until 4th November for the "Do not be alone at Christmas" programme. The programme is for those over 65s or pensioners over 60, resident in the Community. It is aimed at those ' who fend for themselves and live alone but find it impossible to meet with family and friends to spend Christmas Day. The programme provides companionship, friendship and solidarity.

The 600 beneficiaries of the program will spend from 23 to 27 December at the Grand Duke of Oropesa del Mar (Castellón) hotel. Included is transportation from your home, entertainment activities, sports and cultural activities and excursions. It is on full board basis, with dietary menu for those who need them.
