European Union links with the UK post Brexit

We have been looking at the links between the EU and the UK, especially Northern Ireland.

Venturing into Human Rights
Monday, June 29, 2026 @ 4:38 PM

Spain and Scotland have completely different systems. The one in Spain is very simple and straight forward. It is assumed that the legislation is based after the Spanish Civil War, but more research would be required for this.  It is an interesting subject, that Spain had so many difficulties and has come out glowing, while Northern Ireland and Scotland, and indeed the whole of the UK lags behind.  Perhaps it is because the Spanish have such a strong sense of family and fairness, in general.

Scotland and Spain are both controlled by extreme left wing governments, Scotland for almost 20 years. There is a crack down on any right wing activity in Scotland and to suppress free speech. Ignoring any corruption by the party in power, plenty of it in the SNP, human rights only appear to go one way. Spain is full on lgbt+ but Scotland is being dragged through the courts as it can’t state what a woman is. When does a man in a frock staring at a woman undressing become a breach of her human rights. It doesn’t in Scotland, not even a criminal offence. Human Rights are pushed towards the beliefs by whatever party is in power. Sorry can’t comment on Northern Island.

This is very true. They have tried to shut me up and failed. In Northern Ireland they cannot even decide whether a person is a man, a woman or neither. Any country who removes a British citizen because she investigated a major housing association will end up in the courts in Dublin.

We even lodged papers in the Supreme Court in England, and they were ignored.
