British public opposes a second referendum by almost 2 to 1

Most of the country oppose a second EU referendum, even if Scotland were to become independent

Less than a week after the public narrowly voted to leave the European Union, many remain supporters have called upon the government to hold a second referendum with stricter conditions. The petition calling for this, which is the most popular ever, has been signed by over 4 million people.

The latest research from YouGov/Channel 5 shows, however, that most British people (58%) oppose holding a second referendum. This includes not only 91% of Leave voters, but also 29% of Remain voters. 11% don't know.

Even in an extreme situation, such as the break up of the United Kingdom, most people (51%) still oppose holding a second referendum. In the event of Scottish independence, only 30% of people would support holding a second referendum.

Those of us who watched the UK news coverage of the Brexit referendum will remember that in the early hours of the 'counting day' Farage was filmed saying that the referendum was 'fiddled' by the Government and he was ready to object to the result, due to it's closeness!! Indeed the result was close, but because the result went in favour of Brexit, Farage, could only boast victory and immediately 'rubbed' the noses of all who lost, in the proverbial.
What a nice man??
Now the Brexits having lied to the electorate, are frightened that there is a delay in activating article 50 ! WHY?
The referendum was badly organised and promoted by a weak government, to a ill informed electorate, who could only find the referendum as a chance to get their voice heard by a government who had traditionally ignored them in many 'home affairs' unaffected by the EC.
The only fair democratic way to proceed is to include the younger vote this time, and to present a balanced, NO LIES case overseen by an honest efficient government, to the British people.
