Waiting for God – Oh!
Monday, August 12, 2024 @ 8:10 PM

I’m sitting here in a bar de copas – a late bar – on a Sunday night in August. Not something I do as a rule; it’s way past my bedtime!

So, what am I up to?

Preamble

Well, I am waiting for clients to arrive, who have booked my rental house, Casa Real in Montejaque (Málaga).

They are flying to Málaga Costa del Sol airport from London Gatwick on the late easyJet flight.

It’s now 01.40 in the early hours of Monday and they are due to arrive around 02.20.

There are five of them, four adults and an 11-year-old girl.

Arrival and check-in

There are mum and dad, Gustavo and Marlene from Paraguay; their children Esteban and Emily; and Esteban’s partner Klodiana, of Albanian heritage. It was Klodi who did the booking and who liaised with me.

So, after a quick drink and a chat, they looked around Casa Real, which was to be their home for the next week, and declared themselves more than happy.

Epilogue

I set off for home at 03.35 and arrived 25 minutes later to find the house locked and my wife sound asleep in bed!

And I had no key!

What happened next …..?
