The Renovation
The owner’s m
ain priorities in renovating this 19th-Century house have been to retain as many original features as possible and to make it eco-friendly.
To those ends he has retained all the original tiled floors, in the lounge, dining room and two of the bedrooms. The kitchen, bathrooms hall and patio have modern tiles. He has also kept the original sevillanas (wall tiles) in the hall and main stairs.
This means that Casa Real h
as a very Andalusian feel, especially with the introduction of artefacts, pictures and photos from the area: Montejaque and Ronda, for example; as well as themed areas covering bullfighting; old posters; clowns and harlequins; Andalusian cities; old prints; and paintings by local artists.
The roof terrace is home to a range of plants and has stunning views all around. There is a table with six chairs, two sun umbrellas and a built-in barbecue.
