SPANISH firm Ferrovial has just bought the British company Enterprise for 443 million euros (385 million pounds).  Ferrovial Servicios already has a presence in the UK via its affiliate Amey, but in addition to its main activities of road and rail maintenance and services, will now enter the utility and power sector. Enterprise is one of the UK's largest energy and water companies, but demand for these services in the country is rapidly increasing and the 100-per-cent takeover by Ferrovial will allow it to increase its offer, says Mel Elwell, managing director of Amey in Britain, who will be chief executive officer of the new company once the purchase has gone through.
