Should you sign up with Europa Network or Round Town News Network?

There are many different Spanish based telecoms companies which offer telephone, ADSL and TV services, but should you sign up with them?

Many of these companies promise you the earth before you sign up, but quite when you have signed up with them, the story is different. All the promised support seems to instantly vaporise, and you may even find that the company does not have the promised 24/7 support.

Many of these companies also ask you to pay administration charges to transfer your phone and ADSL line to them. As a matter of fact, you may find you end up paying twice; once for transferring your phone line and another time for transferring your ADSL line.

You really need to ask yourself where this money is going to. The companies often claim they do employ engineers but yet there are never any vans parked by their premises. Okay, so a lot of work is done by computers these days but even Telefonica still employ Teleco engineers.

You should also ask yourself if these companies have telecoms licenses and TV broadcasting licenses. Most of them don’t actually, and it is a good idea to ask to see a copy of their license.

Also, if you stop and think about, what experience does an organization such as Round Town News have of broadcasting TV and supplying a telecoms service?

If, you were still living in the UK would you sign up with a newspaper claiming to be able to provide a phone and internet service? More than likely you would contact an industry recognized telecoms supplier instead.

More and more residents are experiencing problems with companies such as Europa Network and Round Town News Network. If you are one of them, please contact me and let me know your story.

Well, I have used Direct Telecom, based in Teneriffe I believe (or some other Canary Island) and generally I find them very good. I live on Costa Blanca North.

Are you an unhappy customer and if so why don't you say what experience you have had in your thread - what is your connection with Europa Network or Round Town Network?

I do know that Direct Telecom, Telitec and other telecom resellers also charge administration fees as do Telefonica, Orange and VodaFone - I think every telecom supplier in Spain does this?

I have been a happy client of Europa Network for many years and live in Ponteareas (more than happy to publish my address and contact details online for anyone to see).

I have also been a happy client of Europa Network for many years, I started out with 3mbs of download for €19.95 per month for the first year and then the cost went to €29.95.

Since March I have lost my internet connection many times which can take up to 48 hours to be resolved if they have to contact Moviestar.

I personally feel that regarding their long term customers that they do not make any effort to retain these customers.

They are offering 10mbs for €19.95 for your lifetime, (new customers) and as I am now working from home and no longer having Sky, I am using a ATV2 which has been jailbroken ( legal as apple no longer sign off on the firmware for such an old model and I have installed XBMC.

I contacted Eurtopa to request information on any deals that they had for long term customers if they wanted to request a larger download, I also advised I did not want their free box( pay a monthly cost of €14.99 I think.

Long story short...they offered 3mbs for €26.95 a decrease of €3 or 10mbs for €32.95.

I am now looking for a new provider and I will cancel my direct debit first before informing Europa.

I am thinking of going either with Jazztel or back to Moviestar, checking out if Jazztel is available in the Manilva area.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I always recommend Telefonica. I think they have the best deals and best service, the local engineer has even given me his number. They know I work from and need my connection, and they have been really great about support.
