God’s Crystal Ball
On Amazon-Kindle http://goo.gl/RPjs3f
On the verge of giving life, another’s woman, lover, wife?
Then I saw as crystal ball what lies ahead when we must fall,
To pages in the diary turned, a wasted life? What have I spurned?
I may be offered second dance, another mortal game of chance,
The answer sleeps within her womb,
This child like me will meet its doom,
Long after I have passed this way,
The unborn child will walk this way,
Till on its downfall I awake,
To blow one candle on my cake.
But not for me this time, nor day;
For I must soon be on my way.
Soon I sleep in heaven’s womb,
Feel free to call it grave or tomb,
My time is other time and place,
To once again redeem disgrace,
I’ll rest awhile then I will be,
In future womb of mum-to-be.
Her bloom is but God’s crystal ball,
That tells the tale from birth to fall
From infant’s caul to widow’s shawl,
In birth’s sweet shroud I’ll be.
Caul: A womb-child’s shroud.

The Amber Moon

The Amber Moon
www.walshpoems.com
If moonlight bathes your face tonight,
Then I would be your guest,
If I might be your paramour,
My nights be with you blessed;
When amber glow knows no restraint,
So I might better be acquaint,
Though love shall hurt me deep.
When moonbeams rest upon your brow,
I greet it as a sign,
That like the moon is steadfast, true
I’ll be forever thine.
With ochre moon so sweet at rest,
I’ll lay my head upon your breast,
Though it may break my heart.

UNREQUITED LOVE

Unrequited Love
www.walshpoems.com
When you read between the lines
Of a letter never sent,
Read love words into something,
That were never really meant;
Then ride upon your midnight star,
To where you’d rather be,
For dreams are angels’ chariots,
Their wings will set you free.
When words of love are spoken,
To a heart that will not hear,
Those whispered words, ‘I love you, but..’
Are words you dreadful fear.
Resign yourself to poverty,
Return your love to me,
For no one else can love you as,
The one who set you free.

WHY GRIEVE AND WEEP AT GARDEN GATE
Friday, April 11, 2014
Why Grieve and Weep at Garden Gate
www.walshpoems.com
Why do you stand wet eyed and wait,
For those who never leave?
Why would you stand at gate or pane,
When broken heart shall grieve,
For those who never leave you,
Will be there, near to hand,
There’s never loss to bravely bear,
When things don’t go as planned.
Why wait at windowpane or gate,
The one you’re waiting for,
Is standing right behind you,
They’re weeping by the door.
On other plane your loss shall wait,
Behind their ever open gate,
Your heart apart will never break,
For you will meet again.

DO I STAY
Thursday, April 3, 2014
Do I stay?
www.michaelwalsh.com
Do I come or do I stay,
When there’s pain in either way?
Lesser pain to stay may be -
But if I go, she goes with me.
Then she shares the soul-deep sting,
The life-long bout or
Midnight fling.
Without her I can’t live but must,
Until my flesh shall turn to dust.

THE ETERNAL FLAME

The Eternal Flame
Soliloquy to Passion
www.walshpoems.com
To sit with some people
Is to sit before a glowing fire on a cold winter’s day.
The warmth of their presence radiates.
It leaves no part of the body untouched.
The heat generated is reflected,
And the fire gives back in return.
Fire without warmth is a body without soul,
When the fire goes out the soul floats free.
Heat without an entity to give solace to
A grain of wheat, a beetle,
a budding flower or human heart;
Is not heat but unfathomable cold.
When I sat before you and beside you,
I felt an all embracing warmth.
It left no part of my body untouched.
But for me, your soul heat went deeper.
It penetrated a part of me that I was previously unaware of.
You shone light in dark corners.
But most of all your warmth gave life to my embers.
In that sense we are as one flame,
Just you and I the eternal flame.
