Setting up a freelance business

Just had an email from David Soler at Roda rental department. He said that for 2007-2008 they had produced 10 weeks rentals for clients. The figures for nett income was 450 euros per week for a penthouse in high season, I have queried this with him as it seems a very low return from 1000 euro gross. What are they deducting from this? Anyone got their years figures back from Roda's rental management? This is the second time I have asked for this info from Roda and they can't breakdown the deductions for me which makes me reluctant to go with them. Really, we need to know if covering costs and mortgage is a reality with potential rentals before we commit to their contract when Phase 4 is completed. Yes I did say when!

We finished with Roda Golf’s rental department in February this year, and apart from a long term rental we had Jan/Feb (which we just broke even, because of aircon, heating ECT.) they gave us about 3 weeks’ worth of bookings in dribs and drabs. They were absolute rubbish all round and I wouldn’t go back with them if they paid us double. You have the luxury of being on Phase 4 and I would think they would have got their acts together. In fact ask the same question in a years time

One of the key issues remains that you have to take their furniture pack, which, although it is good quality, you could save 2k - 3k buying this locally form another company which could be more that you will make rental income in the first year

I rent out my own propertues, not on RODA but in the Villamartin area and get my booikigs from a couple of rental sites, Villarenters and Daltons Holidays

I normally get around 16 weeks a year at approx €240 - €350 per week which covers my bills etc but there is growing competition and reducing rates

I agree with Inspectahomes, we have successfully used Villarenters in the past (for a Florida property), it is now part of the Daily Mail group along with RentalSystems. Its very easy to use and its FREE to join, you only pay a small fee for bookings.
