Hi. My appartment in the Carnoustie building has an air conditioning problem. The appartment has only been lived in about 6 weeks since i purchased it in March 2007. The gas ran out and we had a company brought in to investiagte why this has happened when it has hardly been used. The conclusion per the report is that thay are unable to locate an accessible area where the gas is leaking from, which means that the leak is in the pipework (pre-installation) done by the builders and not accessible.
A report has been sent to Eva Marina who initially rang to see when they could have the report and have now gone quiet again and difficult to get hold of.
Has anyone hasd a similar problem and / or know what the outcome maybe. Any advice on how to handle this is appreciated.

Hi, my apartment is in Carnoustie and I had to call out a firm to fix my air conditioning in July of this year (I gather that it hasn't been working properly since January). They said that the refridgerant was low and charged me 120 Euro for the call out and to top it up. No mention was made of a leak but that doesn't mean that there isn't one, although my apartment has been rented out a few times.
Is it worth recording these problems with the Administrator?
Anyone know how often you have to top the gas up in these things?
Regards,
Ray

Hi
If your system is working correctly with no leaks you shouldn't have to ever top up the gas.
Just remember to always keep your fan filters clean to allow the maximum air to pass over your evaporator & condenser, this keeps your system running efficiently

Hi Rodger,
Thanks for the advice, I will check the fan filter(s) next time I'm out there. it looks like I will have to wait longterm to see whether the problem has gone away. The company that came out (A.C.Control) also made a comment about a new filter in the bathroom ceiling. I think that this must have been an observation as they didn't bill me so couldn't have changed it.
Cheers,
Ray

Hi Rodger,
Yes i was told also that you shouldn't really have to top up the gas. I will ask my agent to let the new admininstrators InterCala know of this situation. However does anyone know what it means to fix such a leak. Does it mean digging up walls and re-plastering, decorating etc. EvaMarina are a real pain to get hold of. Good point about keeping the filters clean.

We were at our apartment during the summer and the air con was so hopeless we did have new gas put into the system costing 70 Euros. It made a difference but the air flow into the various rooms is terrible. Some rooms have no air flow while others are freezing. We adjusted the vents etc but nothing seemed to work.
