Cheap Flights

we are considering letting out our apartment on a long term basis. If anyone has any experiences or advice to share, it would be more than welcome.Thanking you.

Hi Susan,

I am currently renting my apartment to a Spanish man for 600 euros per month, knocked down from 650 euros.  He pays the gas, water & electricity as well (but not the community charge), which is the norm.  I'm arranging the rental through an agent, with them keeping one month's rent out of 11.  Also, very importantly, it has to be a renewable 11 month contract (never longer).  The reason being that in Spain, if they are in the apartment for 12 months or longer, they have the right to stay there 5 years!!  You can imagine the consequence if they start failing to pay!  I have a large mortgage on my apartment, which is why I have reverted to long-term rental.  Plus, it means someone is in the apartment all year round, hopefully looking after it and no smelly plumbing when you suddenly turn up in the summer after months of no use!
