Iberdrola and Jardines apartments

Hi guys

Just to let everyone know that Iberdrola are on the Jardines site setting up electricity supplies for all those cleints who asked Polaris to do this for them.

We have been told that the builders supply will be discounted once these connections are completed, so any owner who has not completed the necessary forms to have the Iberdrola connection will lose the builders supply.

Currently fitting Consumer units and meters to Jardin 4, once fitted they willtake connection fee from bank and start charging you for electricity.

I hope that when you left you turned off your water heater, fridge and electrics, otherwise you will clock up a bill without knowing?

As residents we see many lights etc left on when nobody is at home??

Dear all,

Has anybody else had an e-mail today from PW saying that you must give Iberdrola access to the property before 5th December to have your meter installed?

 We have been told that if we do not give access before this date our electricity supply will be cut off!

We are next over on 6th December (a day after the deadline) and wondered if our deadline could be changed.

PW stated that if we don't have a key holder we could post them the key!!!!!

Has anybody else had any experience of this and can a solution be found.

I received an e-mail this morning notifying me that the meters were being connected now on Jardines but there was no mention of any deadline date.  That maybe because PW have still got my key as they are still rectifying the last of my snags.

Can't see why they would need access to your property as everything is connected and meters are all external in rear of Gardens.  Do you mean PW require your permission to transfer and set up your account with the electric company?

No, they say they do need access to the property for some reason. Hence the need for a key. 

Maybe it's to switch everything off first at the master fuse before they do anything. Ours is already off at the fuse so I've just emailed them to say so.

It's the threat to cut the leccy off that's a bit out of order. The last thing we want is to turn up on the 6th and be without electricity during our stay. So I've mentioned our solicitors in my email reply, saying they will be in touch if they still intend to cut us off. Hopefully that, plus the fact that we arrive the day after, will suffice and we can remain 'electrified' as it were.

I can see that we are not the only ones this is going to affect, not everyone has a keyholder. Hopefully common sense will prevail in our case and they can delay for a day or 2.

Hmmm......strange, my supply was switched on whilst I was out there in October, no one came to my property.

I haven't received any sort of notification yet so I'll wait to see what occurs.

Electricity  -  Clarification

Polaris World are removing the Bilders supplies to Jardines.

Meters are being fitted.

For those who ticked the boxes to give Polaris World consent to apply for Electricity and water at Deeds Signing then they will have sorted out a contract with these companies for you.

Polaris World then let the Iberdrola staff in to your apartment to install the consumer unit (Big Switch) in fuse panel. They also install meter in boxes external at rear.

If you had electricity before it was a builders supply and free.

Once meters are installed you have to pay bi-monthly (Direct Debit)

Also The Elect and Water companies collect their connection fee.

If you have not given consent to Polaris World to arrange your Electric and water you will have to apply to these companies yourself and it will take time. You will have no Electric or Water and PW will not be able to connect you?

Is the consumer unit your main circuit breaker or can you still use the 'General' MCB to isolate the supply?

We have just returned from a few days out in Condado and your meter is in place in the boxes outside.

They came into our property and cut off the builders supply and connected us to the mains while we were in on Wednesday.  We have also found out that we are now connected for water.
