SUGGESTIONS RECEIVED
SITE SECURITY
There have been two suggestions regarding site security.
- MASA is approached with regard to reinstating the security patrol at night, nicely at first. If this meets with no success then petition them.
- SG residents implement their own security. This would involve two people sitting in a car (in shifts) at the exit roundabout to check anyone leaving the site, and if they are not known their car registration noted.
There are already six or so people willing to start this off. Would anyone else be prepared to volunteer? Obviously, the more people involved the less time each individual has to give. Please let us know at the newsletter if you think this is a good idea and would like to volunteer.
RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
The matter has been raised that perhaps a Residents Association should be formed to speak and act on behalf of the community when problems (such as the lack of water) arise. The committee would need to consist of a minimum of three people who live on site permanently, are willing to give up some of their time and preferably include someone fluent in Spanish. Would anyone like to put his or her name forward?

CHRISTMAS MARKET
From 6th Dec – 6th Jan there is a Christmas market known as “Los Hippies” held in Cartagena. It can be found in Alameda de San Anton. The stalls are a mix of crafts, local produce and giftware.
THREE KINGS NIGHT – JAN 5th
As you no doubt know this is the night for Spanish celebration with The Parade of The Three Kings. It is a night of festival processions and family celebrations before the childrens Christmas Day on Jan 6th when they receive their presents.
The procession in Cartagena is reported to be fantastic. People who went last year say it was a wonderful evening.
It is recommended that you get there early in order to park and have tea there to be ready for the festival. It can also take a while getting back out of Cartagena due to the volume of traffic.
Also, beware it can become very sticky underfoot as many sweets are thrown into the crowd from the procession.
If you don’t want to travel there are also celebrations and a procession in Balsicas and this is also a very enjoyable evening.
