Hi - Viv & I own in phase 3b and come out again at the back end of next week.
I am going to buy a set of clubs and leave them at the apartment. 2 questions really - is there anywhere locally that anybody would receommend as a good value place to buy a set of clubs - or - if I buy online is there anybody willing to take a delivery of a set of clubs for me until I get out next Thursday 15th ?

Although we have purchased clubs in Spain to leave at Roda, we generally found they are relatively expensive compared to UK.
This may change due to economic conditions, as well as the golf shop in LA you could look at The Great Golf Co, they are on the industrial estate off the Balsicas/Roldan exit of the C3319 to Murcia or look at http://www.greatgolfco.com/

Im planning to get a set myself, when Im out next which wont be til April. I had a look in the Roda Shop and they had a promo on a generic set with bag(sorry cant remember price)
Ied say with the stg rate it would be cheaper to buy in the UK, but I doubt it in Ireland
Newry your best bet Seamus!

Hi I checked out several places to buy last year around the area, I thought it was expensive and the choice did not seem brilliant. I ended up buying the clubs that suited me from a variety of sources in the UK. All the my woods came from Ebay. I then bought them out with me in the usual way. Ryan Air exceded their usual money grabbing methods by charging me for the golf bags return trip instead of one way.
I had just about got over that and thought to give them one more try, so flew to Dublin Ryan Air in December, as I had not bothered to print off my flight details. they taxed me £8 . So no more Ryan air flights for me.
I imagine there are really good deals to be had buying from the UK with stirling and the Euro at parity.
Good luck

Try www.golfalot.com The biggest Price Comparison Site For Golf stuff good if you want to buy new in the UK or if you want a set just like you have at home but dont want to buy new try www.golfbidder.co.uk they sell second hand sets of irons woods etc they come with 12 month warranty. If you want to play your best in spain it is best to have a set that match your current set.
With the pound euro the way it is paying the cost of transport is cheaper than buying in Europe. ( if you are going to the US that is the place for real golf bargins
