Key cutting

Has anyone managed to get spare keys cut for their apartment? I know we got 4 sets from PW, but I want to get some others cut.

I tried Timpson in the UK, but they thought the blank was a different size from UK standards.

So I was wondering if anyone has bothered to get additional keys cut, either in Spain or in the UK?

Hi Michael..

Hope you don't mind me replying..we are not  actually at Condada..but at Mirador de la Vega in Cox.  I saw your thread...and thought I might be able to help.  We  have a very unusual key to our apt..that our fellow neighbours have warned us is very difficult to have duplicated.

Well our first trip over.. we accidently  came with just the one key..and were very concerned we would lock ourselves out.

But A visit to Carrefour in Spain...and they were able to quite easily make a copy within minutes. . I am not sure where your nearest one is located.  We have one at Elche.. and have also been to the one in Torrevieja. But if you can get to a Carrefour..and they have a key cutting shop at the front..they should be able to help you.

You can get the keys for condado cut in the eroski cetre in lorca, as you go in there is the shop on your right, he has all the blanks.

You can get them cut in the UK at any security shop, I've been quoted £15 per key.

I'm waiting to see if it's any cheaper in Spain?

Also tried Timpsons and they quoted £15 but back street cobblers did two for £10. Not sure if they work yet though but will soon find out!!

Think I will try Eroski or Carrefour next time I am over.  I assume it will be cheaper in Spain, and at least if it doesn't work, you can take it back!!

The Hardware Store on Camposol sector 'A' does key cuttings, much nearer than eroski.
