Has anyone else received this email today.
Dear Owner:
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the obligation that you must be updated about the payment with the supply service companies in charge in your property at Condado de Alhama.Likewise you should contact with the water supply company “Urbaser”, to ensure that your contract details are right and prevent cut the supply off in your property.
We have detected some cases which the payment has not been done, probably caused by some mistakes with the standing order and the company supply has informed us about that they are going to cut off those payments which have not been paid off on a few weeks time. The cut off causes surcharge when the supply is connecting again.
If it is your case, you would have received the notification by mail in your mail box at Condado de Alhama.
You should call to the following telephone number to inform you about your contract situation:

we have had 2 charges: 1x195E in October 1x33E just recently
I am assuming that means we will still be connected in a few weeks time!

I received the same e-mail this morning. We were out over the weekend and tried to pick up our letterbox key, but the man that has these was not available so we didn't bother, thinking we will collect next time.
I have just tried to ring the number on the e-mail Urbaser, asked if they spoke English, I got a curt "No" and she put the phone down, not a lot of help!
I have e-mailed them, we will see if they respond. A little worrying as we are back out in a few weeks and need water.

We received the same e-mail today as well, last time over I asked PW customer services when we would be connected and all I got was sometime soon. I also got her to check if they had our paper work we signed autherizing PW to arrange for payment too the utility companys , which I guess they now have lost.

We've had the email too - the English isn't great is it ?
Our understanding of the situation is that if Urbaser have debited the initial setup charge and/or the first useage charge, then you won't have any problems. However if you've completed and not yet been debited anything at all by Urbaser, you may have a problem. Get online to your bank's webpage and check your statements.

Hi All
We got the same e-mail. I have e-mailed my bank to see if there is a direct debit on our account for the water company Also contacted my solicitor as they are acting as our fiscal rep. Update you tomorrow.

Seems we all got the same email today!
I tried calling Urbasor and had the same curt "dont speak English" response. Then emailed my solicitor as on his completion details he had advised that all direct debits had been set up with the service providers. Anyway, he was a star and got on the phone to them for me. Came back 5 mins later and confirmed that my water supply has not yet been converted from the builders supply, and he also validated that they did have the correct direct debit instructions for when they get round to set up the supply.
So for now, I am sitting quiet, as no supply means no bills!!!!

We haven't received this e-mail yet - could someone please let me have the e-mail address so that I can contact the water company.
I have been checking our account online for the last few months and no connection charge has been debited. I have chased PW as I assumed they must have lost our connection forms but they confirmed to me last week that the water meter has been connected. There is still no payment gone out of our account.
Looks as though we could be one of those where the water company have not collected the payment and are getting ready to cut us off!!!
Can't get used to this Spanish banking system - they take money out of your account when you don't expect it, and when you do expect it, they don't bother to collect payment!

Interestingly PW customer services contacted us about 2 months ago to check bank details (they had the wrong one) for Urbaso....2 weeks later connection charges were taken....so I think its simply the fact they can't seem to manage to pass details correctly to the company and company are probably having mass problems with direct debit returns from each of our banks...this is probably an administrative nightmare...good luck all

hi all ,
we too received this threatening email, so got straight on the phone to sort out!! sort out you must be kidding?? i tried in vain to speak with my pigeon spanish but was truly miffed when the woman on the end of the phone hung up on me?? so as usual got knowhere, likewise with customer services when i queried if we had electricity connection?? all they have told me is there is a meter installed but they were not sure about connection?? how very comforting i thought!! polaris just blamed iberdrola and guess what ?? iberdrola blamed polaris

This is one reason I decided to pay 60 EUR for my solicitor to be our Fiscal rep as any bill queries that require a full Spanish conversation he is happy to deal with.
I know it's more money but may be worth looking into.

I e-mailed PW 2 days ago to check if they had our paperwork from signing and to make sure we wouldn't get disconnected after receiving that e-mail from RPM.
Just receiverd 3 e-mails from different departments within PW to say that not to worry about connection as I had already signed the applicatiion forms when we completed, that it was more to chase up the people who hadn't signed the forms. Copied one of the reply's below.
Thank you for your e-mail. The message you have received from the Community of Owners has caused some confusion among the residents. Actually, I think they just want you to make sure that there are enough funds on the bank accounts in order to prevent that the utilities will be cut off. When you completed on your property, you have filled in and signed an application form for the utilities to be connected, which we have passed on to the corresponding companies, so everything should be fine. Otherwise, they would not even have installed the water meter. It is therefore not necessary to forward a new application form.
