Was over at condado last week, spoke to sale guy at office, he said that  PW were looking at sending out letters in next 2-3 weeks, to advise on date for completion, said he expectedd all apartments to be finished my July/Aughest,

Really looking forward to finished place.

Spoke with PW this week and they advised completion anticipated for late June/July - they have yet to be granted habitation certificates for La Isla.

That's excellent news!  Jane and Dave are renting one of our apartments at the moment whilst they visit Condado, mainly to check on progress on La Isla. 

I had a text from her yesterday to say that they had managed to get on to the island and into an apartment for a look round by speaking very nicely and persuasively to a security guard.  They were very impressed and will no doubt be updating the forum when they get back tomorrow.  She said that it shouldn't be long now for completion.

With regard to the Habitation Certificates, what will probably happen is that PW will make all the arrangements for completions and then at the last minute say that the certificates are not yet available!  You then have the choice of either completing without it, or signing Power of Attorney for your solicitor to complete on your behalf (of course at PW expense).   Most solicitors and banks offering mortgages will recommend that you do not complete without it, but some people have and they have not come across any problems.  We decided to wait for the Habitation Certificates to be issued and this just meant that our completion was dealt with by our solicitor two weeks later without us being there.

Hi All

Visited this week end for the first time since July 2007 and I must say how impressed I am on how things have changed, the place looks fantastic we are really pleased on how it's all coming along. When we bought told it would be a 10 year project and when we spoke to the guys in the sales place they said another 7/8 years to completion.

We manged to get on to the Island by speaking very nicely to the security guard and walked aoung to our block which is number 2 went into a ground floor apartment that had its door open. The lay out has expected is like the penthouses layout and is bigger than I imagined. The infinity pool looks suberb, obviously not filled yet, but almost ready (fully tiled etc). The steps leading off the apartments private garden on its terrace still to be finished, so the apartments are at the finishing off stage.

The walkway aroung the lake has the lights and stainless steel hand rails all fitted. The guy from the sales office says that there will be some sort of device installed that wil keep the midges/mosi etc down due the properties being near the lake.

Regards completion we also asked whilst there and they said the blocks would be released at diferent stages as and when the builder for the block said they had finished. He said block 9 was alsmost done but our block 2 was not ready yet and should expect July/August, this is still ahead of schedule as we were initially told Dec 09/ Feb 2010.

Any way PW have built our properties I know some are still waiting but at least they are still building unlike some ohters that have gone bust, and everyone I spoke to who own properties have said how if things needed doing, they were done.

The 2nd bears best course which the Island is going to overlook is due to start about Dec 09 Jan 10. The trees for the winery are planted so thats going ahead.

The town centre from inside the 4 walls looks different to any other I've seen, and looks well on its way.

We did take pictures which will be posted as soonas Davids downloaded for me, unfortunately he's gone back to work this morning and I'm on afters, and to top it all its raining here.

Wish we were still there, but not long now.

I wonder if someone can help. I'm struggling to get any sense out of Polaris. Whats the definition of completed? Is it when the habitation certificates are issued?  I'm trying to undersatnd what happens next.  When do you have to pay the reminder of the money is it it on completion?

Good to hear that som eof the facilities are available, is there actually a golf course on th eresort at the moment or not yet?

Hi Miguela,

Completion is when you have the property signed over to you at the notary.  The CoH do not need to be ready for this but any good solicitor would recommend that you wait for the CoH to be issued before you complete.  At the completion appointment at the notary you will be expected to hand over a bankers draft for the final payment.

The facilities are coming on, the Foro shoppong center is expected to be open in June, with a couple of bars, and the supermarket.  The golf course is progressing, expected October but in my opinion probably early 2010 is more realistic.

If you get the chance, my recommendation would be to come and stay that the resort whilst completing to have a look around and see first hand the progress that has been made.

Hi has anyone got a Directors email at Polaris. I cant get any sense out of them they refuse to answer my question s by email . My wife has tried speaking to the completions department but the lady in questions English is so bad she cant understand her.

I just dont have the time during the day to call. I've asked dozens of time by email for a progress update , a mortgae company reccomendation and they refuse to put anytjhing in writing , insists that she has to speak to me.

I'm probably being paranoid but I can't understand why .

I've applied through a mortgage to mortgage4 spain but was wondering if anyone had any other options.
