Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.

I will be going to La Finca for a short break on the 21/01/07 basically to get the feel for the area at this time of year. As we have been advised that our apartment will be completed in March, although landscaping and pool will not be finished.

What I was hoping was that someone could recommend some places to eat.

Will take plenty of photos so keep your eyes open

We would recommend the following places

La Chez in villamartin - bit more expensive than most but excellent quality and service.  Also Eduardos in villamartin is excellent.

Go to Playa marina (just past playa flamenca) you will find a wide choice of restaraunts here all of a good standard.

Try the Wok buffett just round the back of Las Habaneras shopping centre.

Also just past the hotel La Laguna is a hungarian called the Budapest which is worth trying.

We have bought in La Finca and have been out recently - looked around for good places to eat. Nothing on site yet [apart from the Clubhouse Restaurant] but a Wok Buffet is supposed to be opening soon. There is a bar and snacks place on the commercial development. We found a couple of decent places in Montesinos, but the best by far is Christophers in Torrevieja. It is definitely worth the travelling time. It is British [owned and run] but the food is really excellent. You have to book well in advance though. He has expanded recently - enough room now for fifty or so. Situated just behind the branch road to Torrevieja [South] from the N332, or come down the CV95 from San Miguel, through Los Balcones, under the 332, then it's in the area directly opposite. Bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Went to the Budapest to try it - unfortunately closed, being refurbished I think. Eduardos is good.

If anyone finds anything decent and closer to La Finca, please post!

There are a couple of nice places in Ciudad Quesada to eat:- The Quesada Steak House is lovely (closed Thursdays) . There is an Italian in the square of Benijofar (cannot remember the name - will check it out when we go in early march).

We also like Rincon de Paco in San Miguel De Salinas (signposted on the main road through the town on the left hand side) - they do a great Menu del dia for 10 euros.

More info after we return from our latest trip on 10.03.07

Best place we have found is in San Miguel and called Market street,5 of us all had different meals and all without exception were excellent.

I had lamb shoulder and it was the width of the plate almost and very nice.

I also like Chez in Villamartin for Argentine beef steaks, run by the sons owner called Martin and he's a nice guy, lots of english staff who all work hard to please.

Charlotte in benijuzar is good lunchtimes and lots of locals eat there, they give you king prawns free at the start if you have menu of the day.

Rebate restaurant in Rebate is good in the summer - you can sit outside and watch the ostriches.

The clock in San Pedro del pinatar is elegant and reminds you of fine dining, very reasonable as well.

We have tried the clock as well. Really, really good! Will try Market Street and Rebate when we get the chance - thanks for the info.

Anyone else got any suggestions?
