Hi there. I have purchased in El Mirador and am due to complete tomorrow (hopefully). I have used CAM Bank for my purchase, mainly as the valuation is guaranteed. The CAM Bank deal I have is 1.5% above Euribor for 1 year (4.5%), max loan to value 60%, compulsory life and home insurance and smaller fees than going through a bank. Seems to be advantages and disadvantages.
I dealt with everything by email, and with my solicitor. My final approval was only given on Thursday, despite them having had my final paperwork for about seven weeks. They did provide the mortgage on the same terms as discussed originally and having spoken to others who have arranged mortgages in Spain, and taking their time seems to be the way with most lenders.
It will depend on your own personal situation, but get a quote detailing all costs and see what the alternatives are from other lenders, brokers. As I said, the biggest worry we had was getting a mortgage based on a valuation when properties have generally fallen in value. Good luck.
