HI,
Having spent the last 2 weeks in CDA, I have for the first time been able to experience 1st hand what is actually going on with La Isla, and for the benefit of others who may not yet have had the opportunity to visit , and to put to bed some of the negative comments that tend to appear on the forum from time to time, I now offer my own experience , having been granted access to the island by very accomodating and friendly Polaris staff. To make it clear I will detail :
1. What I have actually seen
2. What I have been told
3. My opinion
Site Security :
I have seen : Generally the overall CDA site security was good. The secure entry points where all manned 24/7 and I was always stopped before being allowed to enter. There were frequent patrols both within and outwith the perimeter, and I saw security foot patrols almost every night in La Jardines. The Security gate for La Isla was started last week and they were almost finished when we left yestreday - so La Isla WILL have its' own private security entry point as detalied in the plans
La Isla Progress :
I have seen : You may note from the photos I posted that La Isla is very near phase 1 completion with all blocks complete and just a bit of general post construction tidying up to do. The infrastructure is good, with 2 out of the 3 pools now finished, roads, playpark, and refuse collection all complete - some cosmetic landscaping still to be finished off but nothing major. The lake was only partially full at the time of visit as Polaris were calibrating the mosquito control system which operates through the delivery of an electric current impulse into the water which targets and "zaps" the mossie larvae but leaves all the other wildlife unharmed.
The site for the proposed 3rd pool and La Isla Clubhouse and Gym has been prepared and is ready for build.
Internally the apartments are of a good size, but be aware they do boast a very, very small kitchen with extremely limited stotage space
I have been told :
a) The clubhouse/ 3rd pool will definately go ahead as part of Phase 2 of La Isla's development plans, and should coincide with the construction of the 1st gold course Clubhouse - no definate timescales yet
b) La Isla appartments will benefit from upgraded ovens, and a humidity control system in each room to help regulate the effect of being situated so close to open water - this system is designed to compliment any air-con system
c) The area on the "mainland" adjacent to the south side of La Isla has been prepared for planting and will be "forrested" with a variety of trees and plants ( not just palms) so should make for a really secluded and natural outlook when established.
My Opinion :
CDA is the Polaris flagship development and sets a new standard for them going forward. Yes there are tough operating conditions which everyone I spoke with in Polaris readily acknowleged, but I am convinced that they will follow-through on the development commitments to this project. As stakeholders in this fantastic development we must manage our expectations realistically,. I feel that it will probably take 5 - 7 years for CDA to become fully established as per the plans, so do not personally expect to see everything delivered in the short term - I would much rather remain prgmatic and see CDA mature into The premier Polaris development, though prudent managment and staged development growth, instead of short-cuts and purely aesthetic measures which would decay over time.
As owners we have bought in at the formative stages of what I belive will become an enviable and highly desirable location in the future - be future focussed and enjoy the exclusivity of what you are part of. Half full or half empty - I know where I am !
Hope this is helpful, and has been posted with only positive intent
Steve
