Income Tax

Have received email from our solicitors advising us of bill of just under 200E for income tax for us both and fees for our NIE no.s and their fee for 2008.  Has anyone else paid this.  We haven't rented our apartment out so not sure why we have to pay income tax?  Do we have to pay annually for our NIE no.s?

Can anyone pls advise.

NIE is payed for only once this is your solicitors bill for assisting you obtain the NIE

Tax is payed by all who own in Spain whether you rent or not you will have to pay tax each year, in your case non residents tax.

You solicitor can explain.

Thanks for that advice.  Do you know if our income tax for next year would be something we could sort out ourselves, as our solicitors fee is more than the tax bill!
