Well the place seems to have stood up to the awful rains and floods pretty well. The grounds round the pools drained and the lights still coming on and off. I don't know about the empty houses with open windows though!  Or anyone who hasn't cleared out the drains on their flat roof which clog up with earth. We had two inches of water on the roof until i scooped out the mud. The "calles" now have great big pots containing lemon and orange trees as well as  benches which will look more inviting on a warm night. This all courtesy of the Bank that's taken over the empty houses coughing up some community charge. And it all makes the place look much more attractive/lettable/saleable.  I am hoping for a community charge reduction , even a small one, in the summer. That will take a vote at the AGM.  The empty houses are still an eyesore. One of the "big ones" that was priced at €550,000 is up for grabs for €300,000. Wish I'd won the euromillions. Liz

See Costa Galera community forum  for my note on the landslip over the road up to the Albayt
