3 year charges for rates and rubbish collection

Did  you all (owners) receive your bills for the past three years for rates and rubbish collection-almost 1000 Euros? We got quite a shock when the two officials arrived at the door when we were over for a few days this week. I called at the town hall in La Cala to find out more and discovered the bill must be paid in full by April 5th! Not only that but a new one for 2010 is still to be issued.

Cleaned out our flooded store and I do hope that it stays dry now that we have returned home

One more query, any advice about the best way to get contents insurance-what insurance provider would you suggest?

Hi, have you checked out Jeannie's posts on this subject?  "Annual IBI & Basura taxes to Town Hall" 07 Oct 2009 also 10 Nov 2009 & 18 Nov 2009. If it's still not clear what you have to do, I'm sure Jeannie wouldn't mind advising you.

In regard to the request for an Insurance Provider, I had the misfortune to have two sets of golf clubs stolen from my storage room. My insurance is with 'intasure' (www.intasure.com) . My claim was investigated and settled in full in a reasonably short time.
