Water mark on kitchen ceiling, possible from rain coming down chimney.

I have been told that I have a water mark on the ceiling on my 2 bed apartment,  just by the extractor and read on this forum (cant find thread now)  that it has has been a similar problem on other apartments and was caused by rain going down the extractor chimney when the wind is blowing.  Can anybody tell how this was fixed on there apartment if they had the problem and was it a major or minor job.

I know there is approx 5 vents at the top of the chimney, but unsure which one relates to which apartment.

I have told PW (back in November) and they have never turned up at the agreed time. If it is simple, might be easier just to fix it myself next time I am out.

Hi Martin. I've had plenty of damp trouble, but in my bathroom and over my fridge-freezer. Am in Jardines, in a 2-bed. Anyway if you don't want to fix the problem youself but want to get PW to do you'll have to keep bugging them until they turn up and fix the problem. I'm sorry to say they are a disaster, I've had them out to my place 3 times already, they didn't fix the problem the first 2 times, so I'm hoping for third time lucky. 

We are the same, we've had damp twice in our living area and now have it in our main bedroom and are getting no response from Polaris.  We've passed it to Sergio the president who is helping us to chase it - fingers crossed.

I emailed PW today about dampness in the lounge area and they emailed back within an hour saying it is not their fault but the fault of the 'torrential rain'.  I replied telling them I live in Scotland and we get 'torrential rain' all the time but our houses don't leak.  They replied instantly saying that 'this is Spain not Scotland' - charming.  I replied back saying that there is 'torrential rain' in Spain every year too and asked if they were telling me that they built sub-standard housing which we should expect to see damp in every time they get 'torrential rain'.  I await their next charming response...................

The latest we had from PW is that they need to have a picture, so I can prove there is a problem, so waiting for key holder to take a picture and email me, to send on to PW.

Unfortunately my key holder say that it looks to be drying up, so may have to wait for the next torrential rain. What's the weather been like recently, if it has been raining heavy recently, then I would have expected the roof to leak again?

I wondered if its worth me flooding the roof myself, to see if it leaks and then take the picture. Unless it does need heavy rain and strong wind to go down the chimney vents.
