I wonder if anyone knows of someone who will thouroughly scrub and seal a roof terrace?  I think there is some sort of sealant which gives a gloss finish to the tiles and is easily washable thereafter.  Any info appreciated.  Arlene

Hi,

you can buy the sealent from most good builders merchants in England they are mainly silicone based and you can get different finishes.

There are lots of different makes if you enquire over here you may be able to get at the store in campasol.

Arlene - Fiona and I spoke to Steve Goodwin (Ikea Steve - or endpeg as he's known on this forum) briefly about this last time we were out - we were a wee bit concerned about the grouting upstairs and feared leakage - certainly aound the edges. We haven't followed it up though, as yet. (I've got the job of cleaning the tiles when I go back out in the Summer but with the golf course beckoning, it could be a long wait!)

Might be worth asking Steve for advice and a quote - let me know how you get on. (If you need his details, I'll get them to you.)

Peter

PS - only 1 year to go til we retire and get back to Stonehaven - can't wait.

 Hi Arlene

I did ours with a silicone based sealant that I bought from Leroy Merlin cost about 40 Euros for a 5lt can. I put it on with a sponge roller.
