There ya go.

DIRECTIONS TO CONDADO FROM SAN JAVIER AIRPORT

·        Leave airport and follow signs for AP7 Cartagena.

·        Join AP7 at slip road signposted for AP7 Cartagena (blue and white sign) and travel on AP7 for a short distance (to exit number 790)

·        Leave AP7 at Exit 790 signposted for Torre Pacheco.

·        Keep following signs for Torre Pacheco – you will pass the Polaris World Garden Centre on your left.

·        Shortly after the PW Garden Centre, you will come to a roundabout – go straight on (F30 Torre Pacheco).

·        You will immediately see the building work for Phase 2 of the Mar Menor Golf Resort on the right and a red hotel with white dots on (Barcelo Torre Pacheco) on the left.

·        At the next roundabout, take the A30 turning, sign-posted for Murcia/Cartagena.

·        Continue on the A30 and at next roundabout take the second right turn. (Note – the first sign on approach to the roundabout says A30 Murcia/Cartagena but the sign at the turn-off just says El Jimenado – don’t panic, this is the right road!)

·        Follow the main A30 road through the village of El Jimenado.

·        Shortly after you leave the village, you will see a tractor garage on the left and a tall white building on the right with a red and blue stripe and a chicken on the top!

·        Shortly after the chicken factory, you will reach a major roundabout.

·        Take the second exit, signposted RM2/A7 Alhama de Murcia and Andalucia.

·        Travel on the RM2 for approximately 30 km.

·        Look out for sign for RM23 Mazarron/MU603 El Palmar – take this exit.

·        Go right round the roundabout to the last exit (3rd exit) which is signposted RM23 Mazarron.

·        Take second exit off RM23 (exit number 7) signposted for Condado de Alhama.

·        Go right round the motorway junction roundabout and take fourth exit up the palm tree lined boulevard into Condado de Alhama. Take 1st right turning at 1st Condado roundabout and follow road to security entrances on left. Turn right once through security and follow road to Jardines

Regards,

i used to go that way but got a bit frustrated with ''speed police'', the constantly looking for the next turning and landmarks and the not being quite sure with the speed limit and being overtaken by a line of tractors when i thought i was doing the right speed - watch out for the speed police near the chicken factory/bloody big roundabout with flashing lghts (both ways).

My new simple route is 10km longer, but same time. constant known speed limts, motorway all the way, but includes a toll, also comes passed Camposol which means you can call in for a shop/petrol/meal on the way past.

Horses for courses.

Come out of airport, get to motorway, get on it following signs for Cartegena, pick up signs for Almeria, then Mazzarron, then Totana/Murcia, go past Camposol, take Totana (stay left at motorway fork) come off at CDA motorway junction - 85km / 50mins / about 5e toll

Meerkats.........

Hi all.

For a toll free all motorway alternative, we use the following:

Out of airport on to A7 posted Cartagena

Take J800 Murcia

Take J810 Murcia onto A30 and then as previously posted

RM2/A7 Alhama de Murcia and Andalucia.

80k non stop with no tolls,

J&P

I've tried a number of routes including through Torre Pecheco but the route in the last reply is deffinately the best way and, as they say, its toll free.

Coming back its the reverse except you go a bit further south on the A30 (nearly to Cartegena) and catch the one sign for the airport. Watch out for the speed camera on that section.

I always leave just over a quarter of a tank to do this to leave the minimum for the car hire company.
