The reason I am interested in this post is that we have had air con installed and althought we thought our guests would use it
conservatively, but we recently had an electricity bill for 77 euros after 1 week of occupancy in a 2 monthsperiod!
All the supply was turned off before and after this period.
This surprised us somewhat.
(Maybe the air con was left running when the house was unoccupied)
We thought of putting the air con on a coin operated slot meter so guests could use whatever they wanted but at their own cost.
We do not intend to make profit on this venture, but as the price we ask for rental is very low we find an electricity bill like this,
combined with other domestic costs and wear and tear damages, make it almost equally expensive to have someone in as it is
to leave the house empty.
If anyone else is thinking about having these meters fitted, we could ge together and have the supplier com and do us all in one
visit and also maybe get a discount.
The more of us do this, the better chance we have.
