just got back from cdp after having 3 weeks there, it was my best holiday yet! the first 3 phases were packed couldnt beleive how many cars were there. the pool on phase 3 was open and very busy, the pool for phase 4&5 was finished and chrystal clear. the fence runningfrom top to bottom on the left as you look down to the sea has come down its great to be able to walk up the road now. there was work going on in july on the inside of some houses, and there are people now in on 4&5. san juan was very busy the nearer it got to August. the whole town was transformed into a very busy holiday attraction. the stage and boarding was up in the square with a list of entertainment for every day. beech football competitions vollyball and races. at night there wasdancers, gymnastic displays, kickboxing, theatre groups, jugglers, fire and firework displays go karts and wildlife to look at, plus the medieval market which was bigger this year. went into Aguilas on sat 7th and by luck the carnival was on which was amazing with thousands of people there starting at 10pm. we had our first 2 council charges which we had to go to the office in Pulpi to get the bill renewed because it was out of date very helpful man but doesnt speak any english but if you hand it to him he changes it and tells you to go to the bank and pay it over the road, roughly comes to about £35 a quarter. dont ignore it as i think they can fine you. our house on phase 2 had had all the small cracks inside and out rubbed down and re painted. we also saw pidgeons nesting inside the vent chymneys on a roof behind us and also had wagtails nesting in ours at easter so have got chicken wire and blocked them off. at easter there were signs up to say they were spraying the town for mosquitos and we never saw one at all so that was good. cant wait to go again only 5 wks to go!! Sharon. p.s there is a new Mercadona being built this side of Aguilas on the opposite side to the petrol station.
