Hiya,
I read in another EOS forum that Corvera Airport will now open in 2011 or possibly even later this year.
Looking at the map it appears to be a bit nearer to San Juan but does anyone know if they are building a new road & where it will be?
This could be good news I reckon.
Cheers,
Roger & Stella

Hi
Links into the road infastructure are part of the plans for Covera as well as a rail link to Murcia then hopefully when the AVE is completed ,on to a new station that is to be built at Vera .This could if your plane and train fit together be good news for those travelling into the area.
regards

Hi Folks
The Corvera Airport is delayed and at best will open in 2011 but more likely 2012. If you are travelling from San Juan to the airport you will notice as you get to Cartagena there is a motorway link to Murcia. The airport is close to this motorway and the a new road to connect both is under construction. I'm not sure if it nearer than San Javier as it is in the mountains south of Muricia. I've been there a couple of tyimes and it takes a minimum of 1 hour 20 to get there.
It'll be a lot more expensive as well so long live San Javier!!

Hi mojito
Cant help you with that ,not much seems to fly into almeria these days used to be a route from newcastle but was cut about 18 months ago , so now use murcia If a rail link on the AVE to vera happens and i can use a bus back to terreros or better still if local trains can use the lines then it may be possible to get a train back to to the station at the back of terreros. Could then be possible to buy a car and leave it in terreros and cut out having to hire a car.

Yes, that sounds good. Although we're out often, it's for only 7-10 days at a time so it wouldn't be worth keeping a car there unless we could park it at the airport or close by. Maybe we should post on a community forum close to Alicante/Murcia airport - Anyone wanting a car parked in their drive semi-permanently to show house is occupied. Though they might want more of a Mercedes than the little compact I would buy.
