Dates for the Aguilas Carnaval

The dates for the Carnaval have been released although some events have not yet been confirmed.

Only yesterday someone was asking if I knew when this years festival was so very useful info. There are some people that travel down every year from Velez to watch the fiesta in Aguilas.

No problem, there is also a Carnaval in Cartagena for anyone interested   http://www.cartagenaturismo.es/    at the same time from the 6th to 16th Feb with loads going on including free beers at certain times!!! I picked up a leaflet which has all the details but cannot find an up-to-date info page on their web site, it's still showing 2009!

We were really impressed with the city on our visit yesterday. We haven't been there since the summer, what a transformation, it is looking really beautiful and well worth a visit with many of the museums being free. Cheers, heres to us all having a great and lively February were ever we all end up.

What do you mean "travelled all the way from Velez to see the carnival."  We travelled from St.Andrews, Scotland last year!  We felt a bit left out since we were the only ones not in fancy dress.  Jim refuses to wear stiletto heels so we wont be there this year, probably next year though.  Watch out for the bucking toro truck.  I'd never seen an open truck with 20 people on the back doing wheelies before.  And in front of the guardia civil who had their own weird truck.
