For me the news is good
not to sure how much Polaris still control on Condado however you can bet the club house the hotel and Town center will be finished prior to the theme park.
I have just completed on a Penthouse and feel lucky to have got it at the price i have and the future is looking a little bit better.
Would be interesting to see your thoughts good and bad.

Seems to us that its the best chance for any progress to be made on CdA. Developers aren't falling over themselves in Spain to start new building projects and there's such a glut of unsold and empty properties something more 'commercial' was probably the only way forward for the land. Hopefully PW will now develop what they still own; but they must need to see all the funding for the theme park in place before doing that, so that could probably mean a longer wait than most of us want. However, the best news would be that they are quite far on with securing investment which might give PW confidence.

I think that for those who want shops, restaurants, bars, services it is very good news. The market for this will be there. For those who search for tranquility, probably not. Good news for them is that they can probably sell for a good price and buy a nice quiet place somewhere else. Probably with money to spare.
I love it the way it is now, although a clubhouse is a must. But I still think that the Paramount deal is exciting and look forward to see what happens. But then again my glass is normally never less than half full..

The Paramount deal can only be good news, not just for Condado but for the whole region of southern Spain. However, it will change the face of leisure and tourism for the area and not everybody will like this.
What we will see is the start of the implementation of the 'Florida' style holiday package. All the ingredients are present with scope to expand beyond belief. I for one love Florida but hated the flight length and the unecessary and silly immigration procedures and the dreadful food. This kind of holiday will always be in huge demand and if it is easier to get to and cheaper becuase of the flights then I anticipate around 25% of the UK and European Florida custom will come our way.
If you are in business - start creating new business plans now.
One thing to remember and Seaworld and Busch Gardens are two good examples. If the finished installation is of a high standard, the impact of it will be minimised, so people of La Isla should be fine. The main impact for me will be increased traffic and busier beaches at high season.
Condado itself, needs to position itself as a true 5 star leisure resort for the golfing market with top quality accommodation for the descerning customer and not drag itself down the mass market of cheap rental. There are plenty of other places where that kind of clientele can go - sounds snobbish I know but that is not what we all bought into. A second golf course would also be good and i still think is possible given the large area of land still available.
Just my thoughts and I am really looking forward to how things will progress over the next 5 to 10 years - yes that's how long it will take to be fully completed.

Hi
I agree it is good news for both CDA and the area as long as it is done properly and tastefully. The only drawbacks I see is that both flight prices and car hire costs will go up quite a bit along with the cost of eating out, all things that make a cheap few days in the sun become a lot more expensive.
However, I hope the relevant companies such as the airlines and car rental firms don't take too much advantage of the situation and push everything up.

Total agree its got to be good news , i think its our only chance to get on cda what we all bought into a few years ago , a finished site with facilities as promised , one thing i am hoping for is the entrance to be located on the RM2 and not next to la isla , just imagine how bad traffic would be entering our site

I would imagine any access would be via RM2 as it would be a lot closer to the airport, rather than doing the loop around and entering via CDA.
I think its good news if it all works out. If we get a few more shops and a clubhouse plus the undeveloped land built on and sold it would be a great result.

Hey there,
Can you tell me which is the RM2 road? we are on the 603, fuente alamo is on 602.
I would say that they will probably create an access road as you say which will
be closer to Corvera, which would make sense, but I would have to think that the roads
on the outside of CDA would be ideal for its proximity to Lorca, Totana and because
Mazarron has the AP7 motorway exit ideal for people as far away as Almeria, Alicante etc...
So far so good, hopefully over the next few months we can see some real progress, fingers crossed.

My understanding is the RM2 is the 602. The RM3 is the 603 running to Totana, and I believe the offshoot we (CDA) are on is the RM23.
I agree with a previous post that having the access by us would lead to all sorts of problems but we'll just have to wait and see.

I would also assume main access would be to the North closer to the airport/Murcia but guess they need an alternative access for emergencies etc.
Option may be some form of road between us, which would be handy so we could walk/cycle (jump on a small mono-rail ) to any dining/shopping facilities but I guess that will just turn us into a rat run when we venture out from the gated area.

Can't think why anyone could possibly think it would not be good . You still have your relative peace & quiet within the gated walls & fences of CDA, you still have the tranquility of your individual gardens, you still have your uninterupted views from penthouses over the fairways to the mountains beyond. None of that will change. If all that aint good enough, sell up when the prices recover and buy a real secluded spot at the back of the old mineral quarry at Mazarron or something .
On the subject of road orientation - When you leave Condado to go back to San Javier airport you join the RM23 first and then at the roundabout you go up the slip road onto the RM2 towards Fuento Alamo/Cartagena/Murcia. A mile or two up that road and if you look to your right you can see Condado fairly close. I believe if the Paramount park is sited at CDA, this is the point where a new link road would be built to cut straight across to the back of La Isla area. There is nothing at all between the two points other than fields.
The road between us (if it is us that comes up trumps) is virtually already there other than top surfacing. At the outer ring road roundabout nearest Jardines 13 the unfinished road heads northwards for quite a distance to what was going to be CDA2.
Regards.
