Hi all. I have not visited Condado as yet, although it is on my "to list", so I do not know the size or layout of your resort. I am confused by some of the press reports. Is it the intention to build the park actually on your site and is there enough land for this.

I do believe that the land that was originaly planned for two Bears Best Golf courses to the rear of La Isla is more than adequate to house the Paramount plans

However as far as the comments I have read, there is @ least one other slice of land, not far from Condado & between Condado &  where the new Airport t is being built has also been mentioned.

So as far as I am aware no deffinate place has been chosen so far.

Either way I think that owners of propertys to be rented out wiil still benifit. Unfortunatly I do not seem to have read anything about a time scale for the build.

We will just have to wait & see.

Keep reading the Condado threads as I am sure someone in the know will post a message once all of the information is out

The news does seem to be true that Condado de Alhama has been chosen as the site for the park and so if thats the case I'm 100% behind it. Hopefully there will be no hitches with the final arrangeents and the financing. Its our best chance of getting the resort sorted to a good standard and whilst I've got concerns they are merely minor personal preferences that make no difference to anything. I hope Polaris will soon get their finger out and start to build a golf clubhouse, sort the sports zone and tidy up or even bgin to build around the golf course. I know that will probably cause more angst as in Jardines the golf end Jardines apartments have had a golf view for a couple of years and that will disappear. But as they should have had penthouses or a small mall to look out on maybe they'll end up with villa's or the original golf suites which might be better.

I wont be back to Condado for several months now so am hoping there will be really obvious changes when I get back.

The chap on Simply Networking doesn't seem to think it's as cut and dried as Laverdad are making out.....

 If as reported the paramount project does go ahead, I fell that the promise of 2 more golf courses, and shopping centre, will go out window, as if the Paris park is anything to go on, all that will  happen, is as predicted Property developers will take over, and buy all land owned by banks, which as I understand, is everything on Condado, and build hotels, Motels, and cheap rent apartments, and the promise, and vision we were promised, and I brought into will vanish.

If I am proved right, I will wait till market picks up, and sell out, but I really hope that I am proved wrong, and as most people hope will develop it into something like we were promised at begining.

You seem to have missed the point.  

If it goes ahead, which it looks as if it will, then the park will be built on the site of the other two golf courses and Oasis so these not happen.  any hope of the promised extra facilities on Condado 2 vanished when Polaris sold the land.

Even if "CDA2" land goes there is still a huge amount of land that can be developed within the existing "CDA1".  Remember there were supposed to be at least a couple of small town centres plus the clubhouse and more within the existing resort.  There's plenty of scope for more facilities if future development warrants it.  Although not upto the level originally planned.

But then no one really knows what might happen. I'd be happy if the clubhouse was built, Al Kasar was fully tenanted, and all existing apartments were purchased.  I know not much compared to what some people are talking about but then again I don't think the resort needs that much more.

What fantastic and totally positive news this is. A financial lifeline for us all. Things will start to happen big time from now on in. It might not be to everyones taste but it means a quality finished resort with plenty of things going for it. Having Paramount at Condado will mean investment with a captial "i" so we can't fail to see improvement after improvement made.

Polaris or others will start to plan for the type of clubhouse that our golf course deserves and no doubt a hotel and much more for us all to all benefit from. 

Whilst it's entirely different form the plan we all bought off, if someone had offered me an option similar to the one we're going to end up with;  bearing in mind I have a couple of kids like a lot of you do, I would of probably thought what a brilliant idea. Great for the kids, a 1st class golf course and if we had a mind to, a property with rental potential which could be off the scale. Compare that to how we felt in December last year when the wheels were coming off and it looked like it was going proper wrong. So me thinks I'm off to Tesco's to get a few bottles of San Miguel and we'll be having a little drink tonight on the strength of it.

Have I got my wires crossed re Olagolf. Are they part owners or are they just there to advertise & manage the golf course & events

If Olagolf have a financial part to play in Condado they will not want  the existing golf course ambience to be spoilt with a massaive build so close to the green. It might be worth them looking to provide  the facilities for the golfer &  a posible look into completing the Polaris build  plan for the golf suits, villas &  the final Jardins on the higher ground that was on the original plans.

But otherwise I doubt if there will be cheap accomadation anywhere in or near Condado

Businesses do not grow by offering cheap deals so near to what should become a very lucrative

 proposition for businesses with money to spend.

Olagolf have a 15 year lease to manage the golf course for the Banks for the  Condado golf course and they have a lease on the Golf course at Mar Menor, they dont own anything-but no doubt their focus is on running a successful golf course. Polaris appear to own very little other than the land where the golf club should be and two Naranjos Jardines- maybe there are other pockets of land they have retained. But this is what information came out after the AGM

The Paramount Leisure park is meant to be beyond La Isla and established on 1mile square of some of that land (which was where the other two golf courses would have been)

Think the news so far is just that the site has been agreed- they still have to get the investment and that could take up to 1 year.
